Our client is looking for a CEO to lead its next phase, working closely with the engineers and scientists behind the company's technology. You will develop the business, bring the organisation together around clear priorities and build the international relationships that turn technical progress into commercial opportunities.
This is an opportunity to lead the commercialization of proprietary technology, combining the expertise of a highly qualified technical team with your own ability to build an international business.
Does this sound like the opportunity for you? Read on.
About the role
As CEO, you will lead and develop the company across its two business areas. You will shape the business strategy with the board and take responsibility for its execution within the agreed budget, translating it into priorities and shared goals.
You will act on and create business opportunities and personally drive key commercial relationships and negotiations. Working closely with the technical leadership, CFO/COO and board, you will unite customer needs, technical capabilities and financial priorities.
The role calls for commercial judgement and enough technical understanding to work confidently with customers, partners and specialists. You will draw on the expertise within the organisation while taking responsibility for decisions, direction and progress.
The company is based in Gothenburg, Sweden. The role requires regular on-site presence with the team and international travel.
In this role you will
- Develop and execute the commercial direction in alignment with the board, focusing on markets and opportunities with the strongest commercial potential.
- Use and develop your international network to build relationships with industrial customers and partners.
- Personally drive complex business opportunities from initial dialogue through negotiation to agreement.
- Build internal structures, with clear responsibilities, decision-making and follow-up.
- Lead the organisation towards shared goals, aligning technical development and resources with business priorities.
- Prioritize resources towards the most attractive opportunities within the agreed budget, taking responsibility for cash flow and funding planning together with the CFO/COO and board.
- Communicate progress, opportunities and risks clearly to employees, the board and investors.
- Build relationships with investors and lead capital raising initiatives.
